The Dental Implant has compiled a new brochure: Gum Disease – The Facts.
Strong gums are vitally important prior to the successful placement of dental implants and any other dental treatment. Our periodontal lead is Fernando Gonzalez-Eriksson, whose specialist 3-year training in Periodontics was at the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute in London. He joined The Dental Implant Clinic in 2013, and he has already treated many patients with gum disease.

Jonathan Schofield, Principal at The Dental Implant Clinic, writes about reconnecting with a patient whose implants are still performing well 17 years after their placement.
I had lost contact with a Mrs Binks on whom I had placed 7 implants in in 1998.
Happy with her implants 17 years later.
She has subsequently moved to Inverurie in Aberdeenshire, which is 532 miles from Bath. I was recently contacted by her new dentist in Inverurie, who was asking for some details about Mrs. Binks’ implants. I was able to furnish him with the information he needed along with some information on how to maintain her dental implants.
After this Mrs. Binks kindly wrote to me as follows:
Dear Mr. Schofield,
Thank you so much for your kindness in forwarding the necessary info to the Practice in Inverurie. Up to this year I’ve been visiting Bristol fairly regularly & seeing Robert Pears, but my travelling is not so frequent now & I felt I ought to register with a dentist nearer home!
The implants have been great – thanks to you – and I trust they will remain so.
Once again, many thanks.
The team at The Dental Implant Clinic were delighted to welcome Professor Urs Belser from The University of Berne in Switzerland to a study group meeting.
Jonathan, Tim, Colin and Elliott have all spent time at The University of Berne gaining advanced dental implant training, so it was their great pleasure to host Professor Belser in Bath.
The study group concentrated on advanced dental implant issues and all who participated improved their skills and knowledge.

Roger and Vikki Ball have kindly baked us a very special Christmas cake. This beautiful home made cake has even been decorated with our practice Logo!
We get many patients who write us lovely heart-felt thank you letters after the treatment they receive from us. This is a picture of the mantlepiece in our patient lounge.
Our latest Young Dentist Study Club was held at Bordeaux Quay in Bristol where 15 young dentists came and enjoyed a talk and hands-on session with Colin McGuirk, a Perth dentist, followed by a Tapas Cookery class and cider tasting. The feedback that we received from the day was fantastic!
“Composite talk and practical session was excellent with an engaging, interactive speaker. The Tapas making and cider tasting were also brilliant and both speakers were enthusiastic and informative.”
“Excellent day – thoroughly enjoyed it!”
“Great day – far exceeded expectations”
Our Young Dentist Study clubs run around 4 times per year and the timetable for 2015’s YDSC talks and events will be released at the beginning of January so please keep your eyes peeled and keep checking our Courses page.
