Courses at The Dental Implant Clinic
Housing a custom-built lecture theatre with live video and audio links to the operating theatre, The Dental Implant Clinic offers teaching to other dentists on many aspects of dental implantology. The Dental Implant Clinic is also the practical teaching centre for the Bristol University MSc in Dental Implantology.
Implant Nurses course
Our Implant Nurses course is a one day course, designed specifically to help dental nurses learn the practical basics of dental implant nursing in a clinical environment. The course will be led by Lead Nurse Sophie and experienced Dental Nurse Emma.
During the course, we will cover the following:
- Understanding some of the many ways in which dental implants can be used
- The stages involved within dental implant treatment
- Equipment needed for each procedure
- Maintenance of surgical instruments
A knowledge of sundries and suggested suppliers - Setting up for a surgical procedure
Retraction techniques and instruments used - Placement of an implant into an artificial bone roundell
- Post operative instruction
At the end of the course, we will provide you with a certificate that provides you with 6 Hours CPD.
The next event will take place at The Dental Implant Clinic in Bath on Saturday the 19th of September 2026 from 09:30am until approx 16:30pm. The cost is £202.80 (including VAT).
We also offer in-house training and 1:1 sessions on request to suit your practice and nursing team (subject to avaliability).

Bath Hygiene and Therapy Study Club
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our exclusive study club tailored towards Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Therapists.
With this study club, we aim to provide a platform for continuous learning and professional development for Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Therapists, creating a positive impact in daily practice.
Our next session will be lead by our Periodontist Dr Zeyad Shaker and practice Hygienist Karen Morrison, on Wednesday the 30th of September from 6pm-approx 8:30pm
Location: The Dental Implant Clinic, 24 Newbridge Road, Bath, BA1 3JZ. Parking is available onsite.
Fee: This study club is completely free of charge.

Dental Foundation Training
Dental Foundation Training (DFT) is the NHS training scheme for graduates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Foundation Dentists (FDs) spend a year in approved practices and have the opportunity to visit specialist dental centres to see how dentists from different specialties work together as a team.
Dental Foundation Training can provide new graduates with a broad overview of career choices and a good understanding of the NHS system.

Advanced Implant Mentorship
We are pleased to introduce our new Advanced Implant Mentorship:
Elevating Clinical Confidence programme, designed specifically for post-MSc clinicians looking to further develop their surgical implant skills in a structured, supervised environment.
This intensive mentorship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of implant procedures, supported by experienced clinical supervisors.
Programme Overview:
The course is delivered across two key phases:
1. Surgical Planning Phase (2 days)
- Structured lectures covering case selection and treatment planning
- Face-to-face patient assessments and case discussions
- Development of surgical planning and decision-making skills
2. Surgical Mentorship Week (5 days)
- Dedicated clinical time with patients
- Each delegate will place implants on a minimum of 3 allocated patients
- Exposure to a variety of procedures, including:
- Simple implant placement
- Implant placement with grafting
- Complex bone grafting
- Sinus lift procedures
- Soft tissue grafting
All cases are carefully selected and fully supported, with experienced supervisors present throughout to ensure a safe and high-quality learning experience.
